Did you know: If you’re having trouble extracting a splinter that’s embedded deep in your skin, don’t fret. Apply a mixture of water and baking soda to the skin around the splinter, and cover it with an adhesive bandage. To test if baking powder is still good: place a teaspoon of baking powder in a glass of tepid water to see if it fizzes. If it does, it’s still good. It should be stored in a dry place.
